Improvisation

Improvisation can be an excellent first step towards composition. Playing duets is a lovely way to introduce improvisation, giving the pupil a sense of security whilst exploring freely. Please feel free to download and use with your pupils.

This version was recorded in 2019 with my pupil Nia, when I was developing a series of duets aimed at encouraging creativity in my students. It was well before the pandemic, when duets on one piano were a regular part of teaching!
